Hello! I’m looking for my first dropbar bike for a mix of paved and light gravel riding (still unsure what I’ll like the most). For context, I have a decent xc hardtail mountain bike for more technical/gnarlier stuff, so I do not want or need very bulky dropbar bike. The closest trails require packing the bike into a car and now I’m looking for something I can start riding from my front door and enjoy.
I’ve read/heard good stuff about Giant Revolt and that is something I’m leaning towards to, but I have difficulties with choosing the model. I was also checking out Giant Contend AR 1 and Canyon Endurace 6, since they could fit 35-38mm wheels as well, but the latter sold out and buying Contend feels a bit silly as I would have to buy new wheels immediately and it costs 1899€ already.
The options are:
* [Giant Revolt 2](https://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/revolt-2-2022) – 1399€
* [Giant Revolt 1](https://www.giant-bicycles.com/md/revolt-1-2022) – 1699€
* [Giant Revolt 0](https://www.giant-bicycles.com/fi/revolt-0-2024) – 1999€
I absolutely adore the colour of Revolt 2, but it does not have hydraulic brakes. I’ve seen one live and it is gorgeous. Giant Revolt 1 would have hydraulic brakes and spec-wise it would be enough for me, but I’m not very fond of the colour (red is out of stock, so it’d be the “blue” one). Giant Revolt 0 has hydraulic brakes and pretty nice colors (both purple and brown), but am I stupid to pay 300€ more mainly because of the color of Revolt 1. As I’m coming from MTB-background I still need to by different set of shoes, pedals, helm, etc. in addition to this bike.
Any suggestions? How much better the components are on Revolt 0 compard to Revolt 1? Is it worth it or should I just buy Revolt 1 regardless of the colour.

For some reason I cannot edit anymore, but couple additional questions:
– Do you think mechanical brakes are fine for graveling in general? I have hydraulic ones on the MTB, but I haven’t used mechanical disc brakes ever.
– Any opinions on the Revolt 0 colours?
