Hello and welcome to a new video you will have seen by the uh title of the said video what I’m uh I’m up to so I’m right at the very beginning of my Euro tour and uh you know why is it dark well it’s actually 8:30ish p.m. on Friday the 20 something

Of uh March and uh I’m riding to uh harch to catch the ferry uh on Sunday so uh the uh I basically a choice I left my a choice open for myself sort of weather dependent um if the weather was going to be bad I was going to drive and leave my

Car at har and then uh pick it back up in a few days time but uh the weather’s actually pretty good A little bit chilly but it is dry and uh more importantly I’ve got a uh a Tailwind all the way there so uh that’s that’s a an

Omen so that keeps continues for the next few days anyway I keep forgetting to say but uh if you’ve uh subscribe to my channel recently or not even recently welcome thank you for uh for subscribing much appreciated um I was looking through my uh back catalog uh the other day and I

Realized that everything I’ve done since about August of 23 it’s all been or all that uh related so um you know this is the first sort of thing where there’s no or act involved in this at all I could take my time uh I’m not

In a rush stop and look at stuff you know you name it really so uh nice nice and relaxed um so yeah as I said I’m I’m riding to to harch uh I’m staying in a a BMV well it’s above a pub to be honest tomorrow night I’m catching the uh 9:00

A.m. ferry from harch on Sunday morning uh that’s an 8 Hour uh Crossing and then I’m staying in a hotel in uh reram Sunday night uh so Sunday all I’m going to ride is about 17 miles so you know the 300K this is I’ve got a day to sort of

Recover really cuz I’m just s on the on the ship uh yeah so uh from Rotterdam I ride to uh gent in Belgium uh that’s 94 miles and then uh the day after that what would that be Tuesday I’m riding to uh Cal from gent and then staying in a

In a studio uh you know like an apartment uh Tuesday night and I’m catching the uh 8:00 a.m. ferry from the uh Cali back to do and then uh riding back from do home um I’m not going to do it in one hit I’ve I’ve split that up I

Decided that you know tonight’s the uh the big ride of of the trip and and I want to just you know take it steady so I’m splitting it in two uh I’m stopping in the Premier in the final night in uh Watford so uh and then uh coming back

From there on the Thursday without further Ado I’m going to go off on uh towards uh well I’m basically heading east so uh along the old Midland line to uh nailsworth and then up onto the top of the cwal so uh I’ll pick you up there First upop ra Norton so uh for a stop of the trip I’m here in BR Norton about half past 11 at night um 41 miles done I’ve got 70 70 miles due to uh to breakfast and about eight and a half hours to do it in

So uh I’m think I might have to replan that we’ll see was Lively in Caron up the road there Friday night rers anyway I’m going to crackle hello folks hope you can see me so uh this is a North Oxford just on the eight skirts just about to go through this humongous

Rainout on the B path of obviously so that’s basically the Oxford ticked off uh next town of note is TE still alongside the A40 on this uh cycle path and then I basically turn off to the left mile or so down here and uh back into the quieter roads again

Then so I’m on the outskirts of team now and this behind me where my bike’s pointing is the start of the Phoenix Trail and it’s about 7 miles and I’m on it for 7 miles now so even more traffic free uh riding it’s pretty chilly see the moon and the stars and

What have you so uh that kind of explains that anyway let’s crack on welcome to Sunrise it’s absolutely freezing it’s uh I can’t remember when I last spoke to you but uh not lots happened it was just dark and hilly unusual Church yeah so you found me in St

Al not sure if I told you that over halfway um just Looking like it can turn into a decent T warmed up a bit well you can see that was old station building Nary we’re off up this Way [Applause] Well I’m in Hatfield have been for a while I uh I got here at about4 to 7 and uh I’ve spoed this uh this weather spoons out um beforehand and uh I was a bit early so uh I went down to McDonald’s had a snack there and then

Came here and had another snack so I’ve had two breakfasts now and a nice long rest which I wouldn’t do if I was doing all thatting so uh yeah nice and relax uh bit more interesting now is daylight you know if you’re wondering why I uh I did it like

This I couldn’t actually get yesterday off work and uh I really wanted to ride here and ride back again so uh this is the only option really was to ride over ni hello folks bit of an update I’m in harlo and uh that it’s a typical Saturday very busy

By the retail Parks luckily the uh kutes very good at finding paths like this you see behind me so uh I’m not complaining got a mega tailwind and since I uh spoke to you at Hatfield I uh went through Welling Garden City and joined a Old Railway

Line I don’t know what the name of it was and I joined that uh Old Railway line along with about 500 uh Ultra Runners and I was with them for about 7 miles so uh you know uh yeah the progress is pretty uh pretty uh slow to

Be honest but uh that’s okay that’s not a problem I mean today is just literally uh trying to get to the holiday the the tour if you like whereas tomorrow onwards is going to be a lot more relaxed half the distance that sort of thing you know so this ride it’s about

320k I’ve done about 220 so i’ got about 100K to go maybe a little bit over and uh this is the only one I’m going to be riding overnight and that sort of thing can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this already apologies if I already have but uh yeah a lot more

Relaxed after today really I’ve only got 17 miles tomorrow so I’ve basically got a sort of a day off really cuz I’m spending most of it on the ferry I think I might need it rather nice rain here never been R this way before it’s nice to be back on the

Little Lanes again you know the quiet stuff so scores on the doors how look what we’ve done 100K to do should get there at 5 to six so that’s good while this came down and I’ve spotted this bus out perfect timing I’m just going to let this blow

Over it wor forecast quite a shamez it’s been lovely all the all the ride be in here think I’ve been lucky that’s looks worse over there than what I’ve just had and the roads are almost dry again odd anyway uh no I’m in chelmer actually I think it is not chelsford I’ve just

Come through charmford um managed to uh pick up a thorn and there for a puncture in uh Admiral park at chelsford uh whilst I was there I think I had a bit of a close call with regards to being uh mugged um I sat on the bench to doing

You know fixing the tire this lad walked past me four times and he was giving me the uh sideways glance and I’m like yeah you’re up to something and I think if my mobile phone had been on the bench I think he’d have probably had to

Go at it you know but it was in my pocket cuz you don’t use a mobile phone to fix a puncher anyway I’ll whack the tub in uh as quick as I could the bloody Thorns to just to get out cuz it was well and truly

Uh wanged in there you know and uh pumped it up and uh got the hell out of Dodge you know anyway uh we’re at the other side now so uh weirdly I saw him a sec again but that time that I was actually on the bike riding at that

Point so uh you know could get get get out the way of that one anyway uh we had another shower as you can see Sun’s back out again next T of notes is a cold trest well that’s impressive that’s boram house boram all to death sorry Dad

Juk well who knew like vessel 16 I’ve seen two others like this one in swans and one and gler this is coold Chester by the way so you now find me on wait so you now find me on the uh W hway inside the river we have hail again just

Now now going off or wooden boards I hate wooden boards on the Brick N [Applause] [Applause] Co Chesters are famous for being a Garrison tank can’t remember what regiment now off the top of my head if you know let me know in the comments N Oh
