  1. Honestly impressive you can even do an American bunny hop (as opposed to English), given how far forward you are.

TLDR: make your hips do an L shape, get the front much higher, then extend like it’s a deadlift (concentric portion of the lift).

You are pulling up, instead of levering of your rear wheel. when your front wheel is at max height, you then should Push your front wheel forwards, and let your rear wheel come up .

    1. Preload front, pull backwards out arms stretched, weight over the back wheel.

    2. Explode upwards with your legs, Push your front wheel away from you

    3. Pivot forward with your body and let your rear wheel come up to your bum.

  3. If you’re going for a ‘proper’ bunny hop, or the version that can go high, you’ll have to start from scratch.

You’re pulling the bike up somehow, which is not the aim. Watch any video on bunny hop technique and see where the rider’s body is with respect to the rear wheel. Their hips will move down and back, going over the rear axle. That is necessary to lift the front, which will be followed by explosively popping up the rear.

You’ll need to re-learn the whole process, maybe just focus on moving hips down and back, and getting lift in the front. Of course if all you want is to pull the bike up, just keep jumping and pulling and it’ll go a bit higher eventually lol. Be warned it is a much sketchier version and can get you off balance easily, since pulling is unbalanced for most people.
