Dear community, after checking this sub for some time now i realized quite some options i d like to check out are not easy to get in Europe/Germany, especially when it came to steel ones.
So i noted down the bikes that seem to be in my budget(around 600€) and be available usually via santafixie or thefixedgearshop(seem to be legit shops?) and skip the lowest quality bikes, hopefully.
I need help to decide as i am not aware which other factors i should consider to make my choice easier. Eg i do know the difference between the frame materials but quality-wise are they all in the same ballpark when it comes to components other than the frame/fork?
If so, i ve found some reddit posts about the frames from Fabricbike which seem to sometimes break(?) is this still an issue, anybody can tell? I do own a very heavy steel bike for my commute(16kg) and an alloy/carbon gravel which i do love and feel comfortable.
But if cheaper alloy frames tend to “give in” that d just leave the Fuji and the Unkown eg from my list. I want to use it for my daily commute in Hamburg, so 90% is really flat but also take it from time to time for a longer ride of a single day tour. I dnt mind fixing mounts for a rack though, but they all seem to lack in this department.
