The 111th edition of the tour will end outside Paris for the first time since 1905 due to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The 2024 Tour de France, the first three stages of which will be run on Italian soil, will return to French territory with the fourth stage, which is the first mountainous stage that will end in Valloire. The tour includes 8 flat stages where sprint finishes can be expected, 7 high altitude stages and 4 hilly stages. In addition, there are two individual time trial stages with a total length of 59 kilometers in the seventh and 21st stages, which may affect the fate of the general classification of the tour. The tour, which will cover a total distance of 3492 kilometers, will end with a 34-kilometer-long individual time trial stage, including two climbing sections, to be run between Monaco and Nice on July 21.
