It’s about a 6 mm gap.
The reason is an added spacer to make more room between the stem cable routing and the kids ride shotgun stem mount which rubs on the cables… You can see my improvised cable tie 3m clear tape anti rub thingamajig in the pic.

Once you put the compression bolt on there that gap should be reduced by another 1-2mm as well. So i personally would be fine riding this.
