banged up my brothers bike (more visible in second pic) and had a really nasty crash yesterday. i’m taking it into the repair shop tomorrow but i’d like some insight into how bad this is/is it fixable. thanks 🙂

Seems like your stem just came out of alignment. Should be an easy enough fix at home, just use a 4mm Allen key to loosen the two bolts on the stem and realign it to the front wheel. Then retighten, ideally to spec written on stem

Easy fix, just put the wheel between your legs and align the handle bars to the wheel

Does the steerer tube (metal pipe that comes up from the front fork into the bike frame) actually go all the way up to the stem? (With the RaceFace logo on it). I have never seen a fork with a steerer tube that long. If there is actually a second, separate, tube hidden inside that silver extender device that would be a potential problem for you.
