I recently moved to the US and used to bike everywhere in my last country. I didn’t think it’d be possible here judging by how huge and fast the cars were and how far apart it was.
I came with basically nothing (ran away from home, long story) but after months of withstanding a 3 hour commute back home on public transit, I decided to give it a try. Asked a few questions on biking reddits (on an account i lost the password for) and after some great advice, settled on this.
Seriously changed my life. My commutes 1.5- 2 hours long now, i feel happier getting exercise, i no longer have to wait an hour for a bus. I was thinking of getting a car before but its literally been so good Ive considered forgetting it. Its saving me a ton of money not to jump into that.
At the moment its just 5 miles out of my commute, but i hope i can get fit enough to do the other 10 mile portion of my commute by bike instead of bus too.
Thank you to the biking community on reddit that got me here 💙🚲
