How the IRA smoked 18 British soldiers in an afternoon August 27th 1979 a column of four canvas personnel carriers as well as a Land Rover were carrying British soldiers of the second Battalion parachute regimen as the vehicles approached Warren Point in an area straddling northern irelands border with the Republic an improvised explosive

Device containing 500 lb of ammonium nitrate detonated all I remember is a Flash and a rumble there were bits of bodies around me there was this terrible silence then it suddenly clicked that my legs were on fire the explosion completely destroyed one of the trucks obliterating six British troops snipers

In position open fire on the Convoy the casualties were staggering an enormous loss indeed the surviving troops rallied to secure a perimeter a helicopter was deployed to rescue survivors but unbeknownst to them a second ammonium nitrate bomb flanked them from the gates of the narrow Waters Castle this bomb

Weighing half a ton was Ed to explode 30 minutes after the first enough time to allow the support teams to arrive and when they did the explosion instantly vaporized 12 more soldiers

  1. This feels like a 2nd year boys presentation on the troubles, fuckin hell.

The Troubles were horrible for all sides of the conflict, with devastating effects and aftermath.

The battle of the bogside, the Black and tans, Belfast. All of these events happened for both sides.

If you want to report on history in foreign countries, be my guest, but show a little more empathy and neutrality in your representation. It dosent look good

  2. American ignorance strikes again.
Every life lost in Ireland was a tragedy.
I know life is cheap in the USA, @GDFOfficial keep your views and opinions to yourself you total ignoramus.

  3. Good way to divide the British from joining the Irish in their fight to save ierlamd for the irish ,now wake up people we are being gas lighted they are using the troubles to keep us divided and separate from each other, this is them pushing an agenda WAKE UP PEOPLE these videos have only started up again since the Irish started fighting back against the flooding of Ireland with immigrants and getting lots of support from England Wales Scotland, and its now these videos show up, this is them trying to divide us all, this is pushing an agenda people show Ireland support do not buy in to the properganda 👍

  4. They also blew up soldiers in Lisburn after they had done a run raising money for charity. The IRA rarely if ever took on the Brits man for man face to face.

  5. Smoked? Vapourised? Doesn't matter what our position is, but this is not Hollywood entertainment. Show some respect. I'm a Northern Irish man who grew up through The Troubles. I've seen loss on both sides, and it was horrible. This content is incredibly insensitive.

  6. As an irishman, who by all means is not a unionist and if anything a nationalist. This is purely disgusting, the term "smoked" is just totally disrespectful, speaking about real mens deaths as if its a call of duty lobby. Have some class and grow up.
    🇮🇪🤝🏻🇬🇧

  7. And you think this is worth dredging up the past and celebrating do you.??

This is not grand theft auto you little T, this represents the fears that both sides of the divide in my country and to live with day after day.

This is NOT to be celebrated, this is loss of life, and both sides lost.

Stupidity and the inability to create amicable solutions is NOT to be celebrated.

  8. I remember my dad telling me a story were him and my grandfather Were helping IRA members Escape the borders from the great maze escape, one of the biggest prisons in Europe, the two men were never caught
