The cotter pin cranks are a tell that this is a bike boom gas pipe bike. Heavy, lifeless and dull to ride and not worth any additional effort. But I wouldn’t call this a knockoff, it’s not trying to pass as anything else.

Bike has a nice look tbh. Let’s get some clearcoat over that paper head badge, lest the last remaining Shengu Fu wither away into total obscurity. Personally I’d be looking for a pos 700c donor to take the BB and crank and wheels from. Also looks like your caliper have room for 700c and I bet the chainstays are generously wide.
