I bought a bike chain (HG CN95) at a lower price on ebay Germany, dealer with 99% positive reviews. Later had a hunch something might be off, so I ordered the same chain from a reputable dealer/LBS in Germany.
At a first glance I wouldn’t have noticed anything off, on but on closer inspection, there are at least 10 things that are different.
I found an older post on here that basically said “there are no fake Shimano chains in good packaging”. Now I am not sure what’s going on.
Can you please check out my comparison video and tell me your opinion on it?

Same thing. Here are the big flags:
If there is a checkbox on the front, real is with pen, fake is printed.
Real a sticker on the back, fake is printed.
Real quick link is in a separate bag.
The paper is different too.
Same happened to me on eBay. I returned, reported, left negative review. Review was removed.
There probably has never been a version of the packaging for this chain that lacked the Dyna-Sys logo seen on the right side one, so arguably that might make it bad packaging if true. OTOH, it’s not like it’s easily checkable information. To me the big tell is how the pins don’t sit crisp and flush on the sus one, and to a lesser extent the crispness of the logo stamp.
Main Differences I found:
1. Mixed fonts (letters and numbers)
2. Missing DynaSys symbol
3. Wrong company name
4. Quick Link included in the packet vs extra bag
5. Shifting ramps/chamfered edges on both sides
6. Missing chain direction sticker
7. Missing HGX embossing
8. Paper type
9. Print quality
10. Missing QR code
