Monster Pike Fishing – 28lb River Beast

So we’re back on the banks we’re back on the rivers doing some more Park fishing this is going to be day two of my sort of 3 to four day stint on here it’s the last four days of the Park season on the rivers before the close season kicks in

And there’s no more fishing we’ve got today tomorrow and Thursday now if we don’t catch anything today or tonight so by tomorrow morning then what I’m going to plan on doing is leave the river and go to the drain do 48 Hours on there cuz if this isn’t producing anything at all

Then it’s going to make sense to move if we do catch some fish or we get an ni one coming through then I’ll stay for the remainder of the time it would be nice to be honest you know the river is the one of the main places I like to

Come and finish the last few days of the Season off so without further Ado I’m going to get some fresh baits made up I might actually wait 5 minutes for the rain to stop and then hopefully we’ll go from there and try and get some fish in

The bag right so float rod this is going same place as yesterday probably four Rod lamps out that’s absolutely perfect and there’s not much Flow To The River To be honest it is up quite a bit but there’s hardly any flow to it which is absolutely brilliant and there’s not much debris

Either which is nice so right I’ll do this left down rod and then get back under the Broly same placees yesterday sort of four or five Rod lamps out this one’s produced quite a few Big Fish over the past few weeks for us so I’ll get it back out there again and we

Had we had a small fish from here as well yesterday which did surprise me I was expecting it to be you know the sort of areas where the bigger fish would be and that’s it has produced quite a few Big Fish over the past few weeks

So I’ll quickly get this down it is absolutely pee it down at the moment it really is not the best weather for Park fishing if I’m honest but it’s early morning that’s the main thing so we can get these baits out and hopefully get them some of these big

Pike if yesterday was quiet then there’s every chance that today some big girls will come through and it was exactly like this yesterday sorry uh last week absolutely dead nothing showing then all of a sudden the bigger Pikes started turning up so right let’s get another Broly and get out this Rain So we’re coming up to about half past 1 the rain’s finally stopped and I’m just glad to be at the bivy it’s been horrible stuck under there it’s fairly mild we had a bit of sunshine coming out earlier on but it’s nice and overcast the river come up probably 3 foot that

Will affect the fishing that will make laugh a little bit difficult now if we haven’t had anything by tomorrow I don’t know what to do I really don’t I was thinking of staying here for four days giving it a bash I might even call it quits you know I’ve

Had me first year this season I’ve had them up to 29 pound anyway so I’m only like seven eight ANS as short of me 30 pound I wanted but there’s always that thing in the back of your mind that you know this time of year this is the time

To catch the PB so I don’t know I really don’t if we start getting more rain and this that and the other then I’ll just call it quits and I’ll call it a day and I’ll come back in October and we’ll just keep trying again but for now the main

Thing is it stopped raining so hopefully we can get bit of positivity going and then we can get among some of these fish so I’m going to try and stay as positive as I can everything’s been recasted everything’s in sit now it’s time to have a bit of afternoon lunch and then

I’ll recast in about an hour’s time and we’ll go from there but like I say the rivers come up about 3 maybe 3 and 1/2 foot it’s going to make life a little bit difficult to be honest it really is and we did have a bit of rain a few days

Prior so only time we’ll tell the main thing is we we’ve got baits in the water it’s just now the case of just waiting for some fish to come through but now is the right time for it so without further Ado I’m going to get the cattle on have

A bit of food and we’ll go from there so we’re coming up to about 6:00 we’ve got probably half an hour before it starts to get dark it’s fairly windy at the moment but we’ve got no rain and that is all I’m bothered about it’s nice and overcast you know the conditions

Aren’t too bad to be fair and they’re going to be like this now for the next three days four days so yeah we’ve got 36 hours after today to try and get an absolute monster in the bag now last week we had quite a lot of big fish we

Didn’t have huge amounts of fish so I’m hoping with the weather today right yesterday off I’m hoping that the next sort of couple of days now we can get a mon some fish cuz there there’s no reason why we can’t the river levels will go down and then the conditions

Will be stable you know n sort fairly windy days overcast mild Big Fish weather and I’m just we’re basically waiting for them to come up and down this River so cross us fingers that we can get among some big girls if we don’t don’t matter we’ve about his first year

This season anyway but I am hoping for that big 30 I really am and knowing my look I’ll get a 29 pound day to something like I had the other month and then that’ll just be a bit of a kick in the teeth but never mind it’s you know

It’s just now time to settle in sit back look at the river it’s looking absolutely beautiful this evening and then hope and pray that we can get amongst some big Pike well good morning and it’s about 10: to 7: last night was very very quiet it was pretty much textbook for these rivers and yeah we had absolutely nothing at all no knocks no bleeps we had quite a lot of Deborah coming through so I had

To do quite a bit of recast in and looking at the river at the moment it looks like it’s come up another 8 in I think it’s going to be good for B to really do I mean we’ve had two really quiet days now with one small jackpot to

Show for his efforts but I’m not going to let that sort of deter me I’m going to keep on here I was thinking of moving earlier on but I thought you know what couple of days left it’s the end of the river season we’ll just give it a bash

Hopefully some of them big upper 20s stroke 30 Pounders will be coming through here over the sort of course of the next 36 hours we can get amongst some so without that further Ado everything’s in sitch rods have been cast out I’m going to put fresh baits on about

8:00 and that’s time get the kettle on have a bit of breakfast and then we’ll basically go from there oh we’ve just had a knock on the float rod and all I can say is this is the first bite we’ve had in 3 days please don’t come off

Beautiful right so get this float back out there again hopefully Crossing me fingers that we get some more big part come through these margins I knew those margins would do the business it’s been a bit unpredictable over these past few days but we haven’t had any action at all even in the mid

Channel I mean these two the left D Rod and the right 10 Rod they’ve been out there for a while now and there’s absolutely nothing going so I’m going to get the all three rods back out to These Quiet areas yeah that’s lifted the spirits up

A bit these past couple of days have just been awful they really have but hardly anything happening lots of rain river still Rising I think it might actually be stay stable now to be honest oh fish on Fish on Fish on yes yes yes what is the odds of that you get one

Pike then all of a sudden another one turns up out the blue what is the AL of that you spend 3 days catching nothing the next minute you get a few coming through the swim that is absolutely brilliant it really is right mate it’s not a massive fish

But I’m not going to complain after the quart spells we’ve had and that bait’s been out there for probably 15 minutes so what’s to say that we’ve got a big group of part coming oh only just sted oh only just looked he might come off might come off going

Lovely and that is second fish of the session that left down Rod’s doing the business at the moment and it seems that we’ve got a bit of a feeding spell and we’ve got quite a few part coming through so I’m not going to mess about it’s fairly windy I’ll get her back get

A fresh bait on that left hand rod and then cross his fingers but it’s so funest 3 days hardly anything next minute you get a really good feeding spell for you know 5 or 10 minutes and it might go on like this and hopefully we can get that one I’m after that

Magical 30 pound that is what I’m here for so without further Ado I’m going to get this beautiful female back and then we’ll uh get that rig baited up and hopefully we can catch a few more Pike but yeah what a lovely lovely Fish So we’ve just had another fish on the left hand Rod I’m not going to get the main camera out it’s only a little baba yeah that’s so one mate lovely so we’ve got two under his belt I’m I’m over the moon I really am I couldn’t believe that when the rod started going

In again where I’ve had them for the past 3 days we had probably two or three hours out in the mid Channel produced nothing which did surprise me but now I’ve placed them all back into the same areas that I have been fishing for the past couple of days and I’m just going

Fish a straight leisure in the margins I’m keeping everything local anything between one to five Rod lamps out and I’m just going to basically try me look there but it’s the last evening on the river now till we start back again in June it’s been a very productive season

To be honest the amount of barble we’ve caught new personal bests all these Pike these past few weeks and to be honest most of the river season’s been in flood and there a lot of Anglers that have struggled i v it pretty lucky to be honest the right time right place and

Obviously the weather conditions as well and we’ve had big parik from every venue we’ve been to and it’s been an absolute blessing it really has so whether we get the 30 P from now till tomorrow afternoon who knows if we don’t get it it just gives me another reason to keep

Coming back and keep trying the plan I’m thinking for next season is going to be a little bit different I normally come back to the same stretches same areas each season to try and get the biggest part there is next season is going to be a bit different I’m going to be fishing

Deep reservoirs where the fishing is going to be much more tougher but the rewards will be much more bigger you know there’ll be lots of bigger fish and it’s going to be hard work so I’ve got a lot of planning to do over sort of summertime and I’ve got loads of species

To go for winter time for me normally is the time for me to go out and try and catch my 30b Pike every season I try some Seasons we struggle some Seasons we do well this season has been the best season I’ve had in years so many big

Pike it’s been absolutely brilliant and I’m hoping next season it will be tougher but I’m hoping that we can get that magical 30 if I have to blank all winter to get one30 PB part then I’ll do it I’ll put all the videos out like I normally do but yes so and regarding

When the actual season closes after tomorrow I’m not too sure if we might be able to get a few more sessions in for pike I don’t know but I’ve got a lot of editing to do because I’m going to be releasing all of these videos in the

Close season and the reason for that is basically because there’s not one angle of fish in here if IID released all my videos with all the big fish this would have been absolutely rammed people have be turning up in the droves but I’ve been crafted and I’ve left it till now

To release them all and then by then it’s too late people can’t fish cuz it’s in the close season so very crafty way of doing it and you have to do it when you met videos because people will find out where it is they’ll come down try

And catch the fish you’re after and most of the time you’ll find on venues people will come for the first time they’ll took a dead bait out and catch the biggest pike on the first go then they will keep returning catch hardly anything and then give up the amount of

Venues I’ve done it on I’ve seen on two Valley the actual Lake that I used to fish about a year ago the syndicut lake somebody did it on there they turned up first fish had a 30 pounder then blank for the rest of the season you know so

It’s it’s always one of them things really so my attention is going to be all over the place this summer time I’m going to be going for everything catfish carp tench roach Rod bream big bream in gravel pits you know we’re talking double figures I’m going to be fishing

For everything day toet Waters might get a few Club tickets and it’s going to be an absolute mix Mash everything you can imagine we’re going to be doing it and I’m going to be fishing all different places as well going up and down the country trying different places so I’m

Looking forward to that like I said winter time I’m always out trying you know it’s mainly Pike that is my sole Target and now it’s ending in a way I’m a bit sad because tomorrow if we haven’t had the big 30 it’s another year to wait
