A great hack for removing square tapered bottom bracket?

So like many of these style bottom brackets, probably a nightmare for a noob to remove. I seen already a YouTube video showing the same mechanical technique of applying more force to the special bottom bracket tool, though I didn’t have the specific bits needed.

I was having no fun trying to avoid destroying the plastic non drive side retaining cap for the BB. This worked immediately for me.

So passing a long bolt all the way through the hollow axel, from the opposing side that you’re trying to remove the screw on cap for(without threading the bolt). Placing the special bottom bracket tool for your particular BB over the expose threaded end, follow by a strong metal washer and a nut threaded over securing in place. Crank arm placed on the opposing side to nip the nut tighter and objectively press the special BB tool tighter into the cap. It wasn’t a great fit, but jigged it about and it was snug enough to give a go.
Removed the crank arm, I now had a free arm to hold and press into the frame to crank off.

I don’t think it was severely stuck in there in terms off old BBs, but it was enough to have to try hard. I think going over with a hairdryer helped alot too.

I wouldn’t say this method I’ve done is going to work all the time but for these sealed shimano square tapered it just felt so easy. Without needed specific bits of more special removal kit.
Once it slid out, just placed the crank arm back on to help loosen of the nut holding it all together.

The last photograph does show it ruins the long thin weak bolt and washers, from pressing the BB adapter into place. That’s the only damage caused. I may be able to even use the plastic cap again, although it had pressed in tight enough to leave a good scar.
