A long lane at nearly 3.5 km (2.1 miles) just to the west of Chelmsford in Essex. Rideable all year round with no technical difficulty. The length does not include the initial tarmac section which is 470 metres (0.29 miles) long.
Starts opposite Farmbridge End Road (Video ES 19) and is close to Berners Roding Road (ES 03) so good to combine with these lanes on a route.

Welcome to the byway Nomad my name is Tony Ferrari and thank you for watching my Videos this is Peppa’s Green Lane although strictly speaking that name only applies to this first section which is a rough tarmac Road um it’s an unclassified County Road on the Essex list of streets and leads down to the small Hamlet of peppers green it’s from there that the route that gives us the
Most interest starts this is the point where the TAC ends and we move onto an unsealed surface it’s mostly dirt some Stone um but actually pretty good condition throughout the length of the lane which is nearly 3 and 1 12 km long it’s technically three separate byways but only because it
Crosses Parish boundaries it’s the same route just with three different names this section is Margaret roading byway 18 it’s around here that we crossed the First Parish boundary and the byway now becomes Abus bamp and burnner roding byway 37 Snappy title or what as you can see there’s a few sort
Of wet puddles along here but it drains remarkably well this was after quite heavy rain um and certainly this section is pretty much ridable in all conditions the lane is 3,397 m in length that’s about 2.1 miles in terms of location uh the lane starts on the
A1060 which is about 5 miles to the west of chelmford what very soon the lane does a sharp 90° turn to the right there’s a track off to the left that’s a bridal way so no access at all for Motor Vehicles is is around about here we cross into our
Third Parish along the Route and the highway now becomes willingale byway number 60 at this Junction the byway turns right this is now the access track to Rose farm as a result the track does actually improve somewhat um looks like it’s been sort of rolled but equally it
Also contains quite a lot of potholes that as you can see on this occasion filled with water just up ahead there’s a track leading off to the right this is a private Farm access and the Right Way continues round to the left just a brief stop there not quite
Sure why I did that most probably having a quick Comfort break you know it happens the byway ends where it meets shello Road just up from the interestingly named Hamlet of shello bowels thanks for watching the video if you liked it please remember to subscribe hit that Bell so that you get
