Comparing the trip North vs the Southern return is a story about wind and a little bit about taking risks on unmarked forestry service roads. Rode from Harkers Island to Cedar Island Ferry and then took the boat to Ocracoke for the Ocracoke Campground. Have driven along this route and loved the time I spent biking it. Lots of incredible scenery and mostly along ‘MST’ which is cool. The wind on the way up almost took me out but made coming back a breeze thankfully.
Got the rei link frame bag on a great deal on a whim and perhaps a but large for my frame but held so much stuff and let me not use a backpack for the first time which was lovely. Overall pretty happy with the bag and overall setup still working through the kinks.
Absolutely love my Univega its been quite some miles with me and just never seems to let up and be a smooth, simple, tough enough bike.
Can’t wait for warmer weather. Love these dunes!
