I’ve been building up this bike for myself, I’m happy with everything but the stem. It just doesn’t look great with the drops. Any other stems that would fit better or recommendations on what to change? Id appreciate some honest opinions 👍

[Gnome Hopper](https://analogcycles.com/products/gnomehopper-60mm-stem) or [Happy Stem](https://velo-orange.com/collections/threadless-stems/products/vo-happy-stem-31-8mm) are good looking options for a comfy, good looking rise. Not sure on your bar size/commitment but you can always shim.

26″ Dropbar MTB is always going to have that ugly duckling look. Embrace it by going all in with a VO LD stem. It won’t look much better but your bars will probably be closer to what you seek.

I had the same issue with my Minerva Outback. I ended up getting a shorter stem but flipping it horizontally. Imo a decline or at max a small rise always looks better, but I’m used to that position from racing.
