Leaving Berlin to explore the city of Bamberg

After a week in Berlin and having a good time at the festival of Lights with out friends @Reiselinda , it is time to get moving again. We’ve been looking at a few places, but in the end we have chosen to drive to Bamberg.
This is a medieval town that among other things is known for its town hall building which stands on an island in the middle of a river.

Curent now the reason we parked like this by the road uh I will come back to later but first let me take you back to Berlin where uh this episode starts and oh yeah this will be part six of a drive from Norway down to spend this winter

With our motor home anyway Let’s uh let’s go to Berlin we spent a couple of days in Berlin uh more closely to a week exploring and we met up with our friends par and Linda from the YouTube Channel R Linda now par and Linda have been many

Many times to berin they also Liv there for a short period of time so their knowledge of the city was uh great to see and it came to Great use to us because they could show us around the both known and unknown places and at night we attended the festival o lights

Uh we stayed with our motor homes at the ghetto camping Berlin now this campsite is located a little bit out of downtown Berlin but it’s enough outside it so you get sort of the tree and the greeneries uh and the quietness at night and it’s about a 45 minute uh ride with public

Transport into downtown bin from the campsite and now we are heading out of the campsite and we have our eyes set on a little town south of Germany called bomag but first we need to get some diesel in our motor home because uh well

Uh we all know uh the price prices of uh diesel at the autoban is very expensive and today it’s going to be all driving on auto bars uh down to bomag but first we get to experience a little beautiful drive to Poston city which is a town just south of

Berlin well all right folks let’s hit those German Autobon So we made it all the way down to leig before we met our first St aom now if you’re not familiar with driving on Autobon heavy traffic is really is a problem it it’s all over Germany and the amount of trucks that are on the roads in Germany are

Insane and as you can see here the buses got the flats and the queue that came in the other direction goes on for miles and miles and miles and that’s something to be prepared for if you’re new to driving in Germany it’s really Almost 100% chance

You will get in a big long traffic can on the autoban I feel a top tip is in order here because on Sunday in Germany the trucks are not allowed to drive on the autoban and that makes a world of difference on the traffic so if you’re going to choose a

Day in a week uh drive on a Sunday in Germany also driving on autoban isn’t uh well what you want to call a scenic route it’s uh you see a lot of fields and a lot of forest but um if you want to really see Germany I suest you take to be road though they’re more bumpy it

Takes more time but a lot more cynic but of course also driving on autoban uh giving the right conditions can be quite a pleasant and relaxing thing to do and it can also be a great uh time to uh plan ahead the rest of the vacation

And if you need to book stuff check things out online um important thing is just to use your time uh in a good way And here we are in the city of bomberg and we tried out the the the most popular St plus first it’s the one that is closest to the Old Town at the first Clans it seems like the St BL was jam-packed but just all the way in the

Corner to the left there there was one spot free and if you ask me uh they Sav the best of last cuz we just love our little spot here talk about good luck now I heard and read many fine things about bomag online so as soon as

We have parked up the motor home we got our bikes out eager to explore this city the old town of bombai is located on this island in the middle of the river Reus and here you will also find the stpl located just next to this wonderful pedestrian uh and bicycle PA that goes

Around the whole island and we took our bikes down on this path to explore a little bit and uh wow was it beautiful it followed pretty much the river all the way around but when you come here into the Old Town it starts to sneak through the old houses uh from the

Middle Ages now this was also a pleasant surprise to see this small little Charming fairy that the F’s people over the river though uh we were a little bit disappointed to see on the other side there was steps so it wasn’t suitable for bicycle uh so we give this fery a

Skip this time but oh boy do we love these little Charming fairies that take people and bicycles over little canals and rivers now bumbag being a city from the Middle Ages makes it perfect for bicycle it was pretty much built for horses and pedestrian so the bicycle is just a

Perfect little way to get around the city and especially if you have a ebach that means you can effortly go up and down uh the steep hills uh of the bomag city but of course the city being paved with Cobblestone it doesn’t hurt to have some sort of suspension on your bike but

Uh yeah now one of the main attraction here in bombik is the bom kidil as I understand this this is very old it was found in the year of 2002 by the king King Henry II later become the Emperor Henry II now I’m not going to go too

Much into the history uh of this church and uh all the tombs and uh U the origin of of this cedal cuz I won’t do it any justice um so I’m just going to take you inside here for a little Peek To But I have to admit to be totally honest with you uh some of these uh old middle-aged Catholic Church really gives me the hiid shibi and this one being one of those churches um some of these churches are really beautiful to visit but this one

Was a bit creepy if you ask me but hey you should uh visit and do your own opinion about that I guess but it was really great to come out in a daylight again after that little visit and yes as you can see we do lock up our bikes

Really good when we go sing even outside the church but I guess what w bomag Really U famous is this uh Old Town Hall that was built in the middle of an island is these pictures you see all over the internet on Instagram and uh th nails on YouTube

Videos this building is sure is a good photo opportunity and we us being us we really love to do some uh long exposure photos so um when the evening home we took our camera on our tripods and uh capture some beautiful shots of this uh town hall now our picture says more than

A thousand words and I guess the video says about 500 Words uh but we just going to leave you with some clips of Bomag And we finish up the evening with a nice dinner outside it was a really Pleasant temperature this night and as usual we sort of stumble into the nearest C place we can find so the next morning we yet again prepared our motor home for travel and we set our course for where

We are now um the FR start mega store just knows of menion Also here we are parked on a busy street uh on curbside parking outside um the mega store the FR mega store we were hoping to get room at our St plus this night but they were absolutely full and tomorrow we have planed to go shopping inside U the store so uh I

Think we just stay here for the night it’s noisy and trucks comes and goes and I can’t imagine what it would be like in the morning but hey you win some you lose some but again I think this video has gone on long enough and um I hope you
