Is there a technique to riding in deep leaves? Or is it just best to not think about what’s under all that?

considering how fun (and pretty) these trails were, it was worth the sketch. [Full Video for anyone into it.](https://youtu.be/LKmYBO9b-c8?si=MdncEaib6vpl8-ji)
Two things that I keep in mind when riding in deep leaves. First is that when they are layered just so, cornering grip can be super slick, almost like ice. Second is unexpected holes/logs/etc hidden by the leaves that can send you otb. Probably less of a concern on trails you know well.
Just send it and pray
I love a few good leafy rides! Honestly forgetting about what’s underneath your tires can be great!
Send it and stay loose to absorb any invisible bumps.
As long as it’s on well ridden trails.
I almost speared myself on a branch on a log in Germany going trough leaves like that.
Agree, send it and hope for the best. I ride in New England, so the leaves can be crazy. Riding straight down a trail doesn’t make much of a difference, but hitting a turn may. Even then, I’ve hit some turns at speed and with the correct technique don’t wipe out.
Be prepared to lose traction at literally any time. Send it and hope for the best!
Seconding what’s been said before: on trails you know goof, just send it. I once didn’t and a hidden hole sent me headfirst into an old concrete pole … Still have that helmet in the closet as a relic :/
Oh, that looks butt hole puckering fun.
Just fucking send it. No helmet.
