Go look up Shimano’s installation guide. There are detailed instructions for sizing the chain and setting the b gap, follow them closely. These drivetrains are awesome, but you need to install them as directed for them to work well.

Yes, way too short, especially on a full suspension bike. There are a few chain lengthing techniques, but I’ve never gone wrong with going little-little and removing the minimum number of links that puts tension on the derailleur pulleys.
