Wow. I mean I wouldn’t buy it, but I was thinking the other day how I’m surprised the big box stores don’t sell any drop bar bikes. I was wrong!

Ozark trail is Walmarts in-house brand. apparently Walmarts owners kids are big into cycling and that has gotten them into making these solid beginner level bikes. The mtb they came out with is damn good compared to other box store bikes, not a bs full sus and not using “more gears more gooder” to sell them.

I wouldn’t buy it but hey if someone wants to ride gravel and doesn’t want to buy a used one, considering bike prices these day… why not

That’s actually… Not bad. I’ve heard decent things about the L-Twoo groupset for the budget.
I’d love to have this option in Canada.

how to commit die… that bike was put together by a meth head contractor building bikes as fast as possible because they get paid by how many bikes they put together. How do i know? i use to work at wal-mart headset will be WAY too tight spokes are loose as fuck from the factory.

They don’t sell bikes. They sell bike shaped objects.
That has a “L TWOO” brand shifter, some bottom tier 2×7 drive train, junk wheels with likely implosion ready hubs and almost guaranteed a bad lacing/ destressing. You could replace every part on the bike and the frame itself wouldn’t be worth $250.
Do yourself a favor and buy a used bike from a bike shop, or buy a used bike from someone who took care of it (then have a bike shop go over it). Also, be sure to buy the right size bike.

I saw this and wondered if it would be worth it for a winter commuter. Says it’s out of stock for me.

I had a Walmart bike as a kid. We rode those from dawn to dusk. Never needed a tune up or got a flat tire.

I wish they hadn’t let Viathon die due to Covid. They were gearing up to offer some really nice specc’d bikes at reasonable pricing.

I contemplated it before buying my used CX
“I Want to Play a Game”
Sizing looks right.
I just realized I am a bike snob. 🥴
