Hi – first time posting.

I currently have an Endurace AL 7 (2020):

Question:

I ride in London, commuting for 30-40min each day. I also go for longer rides of 2-3 hours and I tend to find myself on the canal trails which shift between tarmac and rocky terrain (not heavy shifting gravel).

I want to get into more longer rides – potentially joining a local community that also cycle in Regents Park et al, I’m planning to cycle to Brighton this year amongst other challenges I can find.

I’m really contemplating selling my current Endurace AL 7 (Shimano Ultegra 6800 11s, Mavic Aksium) and upgrading to the Endurace CF 7 (Shimano 105 R7100 12s, DT Swiss Endurance LN).

Would the recommendation (please input!) be that I’m better off upgrading my current bike (perhaps new wheels) or going for the CF 7?

Any helpful thoughts and opinions very welcome!

Thanks

Not familiar with your local market. Maybe sell the old bike and get a new one. I am not saying your old bike is not a good one, which is definitely a great bike. But the latest disc brake bike completely changed the game. I still have a 2013 venge and I am gonna keep that forever. Recently I have bought a new disc brake gravel bike mainly because I realized it is hard and too costly to upgrade a rim brake bike. The upgrade path is kinda closing for old rim brake bikes sadly.
