I have no opinion on rider pay or industrial action. I don’t know how much they get paid and how it’s arranged. I don’t know who to blame for how this unfolded so I choose not to pick a side. I don’t know enough about the situation to form an opinion.
But I travelled hundreds of kilometres, spent a ton of money on hotels and petrol and food, so I’m pretty dark about the whole eventuation. I think it sucks big time that they quietly announced this the day before the main event. I’m just so disappointed. We don’t get many world-class events like this in NZ, so when they happen I do my very best to support them. But I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever attend Crankworx again, after several years of traveling to Rotorua for the event.
