Next step is finding a supplier to make a metal prototype. I designed the clamp to be used with the original bolt and clamping piece. I also need a spring inside the tube to push the clamping piece outward against the handle. I still need to design a method to keep the clamping piece aligned vertically but already have some drafts for that ready.

If it works I’ll adapt the size for the stem as well.

  1. In your 2nd link, notice the direction of the leaver; I’d say, with the forward travel, and by some weird chance something would/could get under the leaver and lift it, isn’t that safe. The few spins isn’t that big of a deal, just don’t open it to wide to save the spins. Bromptons design is the safest.
