Hi all!
Biking with a backpack has gone on way too long — I’m looking for a backpack or shoulder bag I can easily clip into a rack (yet to be purchased) on the back of my bike. Ideally it’d be centered on top of the wheel rather than a pannier on one side for balance.

Anyone know of anything like this? Or have an office commuting bag solution they love? (Must hold a laptop) I’m astounded by what seems to be a lack of options!

I just got a collapsible crate. I can throw any bag in it, so no need to look for special products.
I really like a lot of Topeak’s products but I’ve had that rack and it disintegrated.
Ortlieb is the standard for bags. I have their 27 L waterproof backpack and I also have their panniers. The 27 L bag can hold a messenger bag with a 15″ laptop, a lunch box and some clothes. They are absolutely outstanding products and fully waterproof. In the rare event they need fixing, Ortlieb sells cheap [replacement parts](https://www.ortlieb.com/usa_en/products/spare-parts) for just about everything.

Pair that with a [Tubus rack](https://www.tubus.com/en/products) and you have a setup that will likely outlive you (not really an exaggeration).
Side mounted panniers don’t cause balance issues.
