It has apparently been sitting somewhere gathering dust for the past 30 years. It came with a crazy long Cinneli stem and a 12-19 Dura Ace freewheel which I had to swap out to make it rideable by a mere mortal. It looks brand new and came with three extra wheel sets, Campagnolo and Mavic. I’m guessing it was raced one season and then put away and forgotten. The hubs and brakes are Dura Ace 7400, the headset is a Mavic 305 and the crank is 53/42 Mavic Starfish. It’s a joy to ride.

  1. Yep I remember those torture devices that were corn cob freewheels from my youth.

I still have a few things with them but they certainly make you feel crazy weak in this day and age.

That starfish crank set is one of my favorites. First gen C record is my favorite then the starfish and the most under rated is that Omega crank set from the same era. All just beautiful parts.

Every time I look at modern bikes I feel like we are being robbed at gunpoint. They are horribly finished and fear from good-looking and painted to hide imperfections rather than finished.

Great score maybe try and find a ebay score of a stem with a bit of a rise so you don’t that crazy amount of stem above the headset.
