Surely this is a spoof listing. That’s a Hardrock…a low-tier MTB from 30+ years ago. Why on earth do they think it’s worth more now than it was then? Do people actually buy at these prices?
Or is that stereotype true of guys listing bikes online at a price that will never sell, just so they can tell their wife they’re trying to thin the herd of project bikes?

this is just someone finding out the hard way that you’ll never get more money out of a bike than you put into it.
90’s mtbs are going through the same circle of life that fixies did in the early 2000’s. People bought them because they were cheap, they got popular and expensive, the bubble popped, and now the hipsters have moved onto vintage mtbs. Soon the bike hipsters will move onto something else. ( in my area it seems to be rim brake cyclocross bikes )
