My local cycling club Ambleside Velo had a 4 day Cycling Holiday to the Costa Blanca in Spain with a company called Velotours Spain for whom as a result I rate extremely highly and have included their website details below.
We had the most brilliant time, with great weather fantastic descents after getting up some challenging but doable climbs even for this lot in their 60’s and 70’s, the accommodation and package offered by Velotours was superb as was the amazing food.
There will be 3 other videos covering 3 of our rides in more detail but this video is a quick overview of the 4 days
You can find Velotours at

Foreign Lovely scenery Quiet roads and challenging climes if that’s your bag all of these are key ingredients of a great cycling holiday but when these are combined with a fantastic base for your stay with great food Great owners Tiffany and Dave with their son Albert and his new playmate Scooby-Doo of course top-notch bikes which were meticulously prepared to fit each Rider although that system did go slightly wrong with John it seems and add to all that the local knowledge of helpful guide Riders then you’ve got something approaching perfect
We spent four days with Velo tour Spain based in the Hills behind calpe on the Costa Blanca and you could be forgiven for thinking that this sounds like an advert for Velo tours it’s not that but it’s definitely a recommendation it’s more likely to be closer to an
Advert advocating being part of a Cycling Club to be honest because although vellator has made this four day break close to perfect what made it perfect was sharing it with this lot a selection of members of Ambleside Velo my local Cycling Club there are loads of reasons why I’d recommend any cyclist
Join a club and I cover all that in this video which I’ll link on the screen at the end of this one but know this I didn’t know any of these people just a few short years ago but we’ve just shared a brilliant four days together I
Haven’t laughed so much for ages and they are why this was a perfect cycling holiday the day has always started with a wonderful leisurely breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead then up to the bike shed to get ready for the off and a natural selection Splitters into two
Groups the mountain goats and stronger riders in the first and Oz tail Enders and we set off down the lane that leads to the Villa through Vineyards and followed the guide thank you We had loads of great climbs including the famous Calder rats well known for its frequent inclusion in Spain’s Grand Tour the Vuelta Espana Man vs Mountain and the man won Hold on your mat if you can say hello you’re not working hard enough it was that was worse I don’t know oh I’m bad I’m the top Kim my point of the day 780 well done guys climbing means the old gits get spread out so we had plenty of quick stops to
Regroup along with the obligatory friendly insults and Mickey taking of course and Kim here at Club Ride video man often catching footage of a sneaky natural break well here’s one for our mate Roger if you have no pain and with great climbs comes amazing descents and these ones were amazing [Applause] Thank you Three punches in our group over the four days and I had two of them but these guides show how good they are taking pity on an old git with arthritis a little bit of glass thank you and Ambleside Velo do like a good Cafe stop and this area had some great spots to
Stop refresh and refuel and why go away to cycle if you can’t find things that you don’t get at home ice cream by the beach is the special Costa Blanca cycling fuel Some of the group took full advantage of the venue Thank you And if there isn’t a cafe when it’s getting too hot there’s always a petrol station with a freezer full of many maggots Richard like a bike Pub crawling and just like our Friday Club rides this one ends at a pub but for our mate Larry back home they didn’t have Cajun chips unfortunately
But their beer was pretty special after a hot bike ride good guys Smooth At the end of every ride we had tea cake and savory snacks waiting for us and the pool to sit around and wind down In the evening the most amazing three-course meals cooked and served by a lovely Dutch couple Daphne and Rick I couldn’t think of a better combination for a fantastic short cycling holiday fantastic weather Great scenery climbs that were challenging enough but easy enough for this Rubble to get up fantastic descents the most amazing place to have as a base with food to die for although Barry was still missing his
Rhubarb crumble and the looking man had it waiting for him on the table when he got home and doing all of this with great mates when I wasn’t cycling or eating I was laughing absolutely Priceless there were plenty of amazing photos taken by everyone to remind us of our fantastic
Cycling holiday but not everyone was happy being the subject if you’re thinking of a cycling holiday whether you’re a couple a small group or a large group it’s worth considering relatives in Spain I’ll leave a link in the description of the video below to their website I hope your stay is as
Amazing as ours was look out for further videos of the three rides here in more detail on my channel including the old gits grunting and puffing up the Calder rats you can do this by subscribing to the channel by clicking on this yellow icon and over
Here are a couple of videos to get you started happy cycling and I’ll see you soon foreign

I’ve been thinking about cycling holiday, but illness put pay to that. Just a quick question, how is the back?
