Wondering if products like these are secure and dependable enough to attach a couple extra bottles or whatever to my front fork or downtube. I’d like to get a Salsa Anything Cage or something like that but they’re a bit expensive for me.

Yes, I used something like that one as a feedbag by hanging it off the inside of the handlebars.
look pretty prone to rotating, not sure I’d want that exact one next to my front wheel. I use [revelate feed bags](https://www.revelatedesigns.com/index.cfm/store.catalog/Cockpit/MountainFeedbag) to hold extra bottles if I’m not wearing a jersey I can just pocket them in.
Use something like this for snacks. Wont do a long tour without.
These look nigh on useless when you put anything with any weight in them, like water. Look for something that has multi-directional mounting points so you can mount to the stem and bar at the same time.

Yeah, I use them on my MTB on the handlebars. Super handy. I have the Topeak ones
Google bike feed bags. Bags like this are pretty standard for bikepacking. I have a full frame bag with my primary water bottles in bags like that, allowing me to easily grab them without leaning over.
We have used this one on the back of our tandem for ~4 years and ~15,000 miles of riding. It still works perfectly.

I wouldn’t use them on fork or downtube.
