I am a huge fan of the Lezyne power cages but with the mount locations on my bike, the seat tube bottle can be very hard to get in and out. I find that the more traditional bottle cage shapes make it easier to get bottles in and out. I was thinking about getting a king cage but was torn between the original and the flat top for more versatility, or maybe the wide foot stout cage. Has anyone had experience with those? I’m curious how the retention of normal cycling water bottles is without that bent section.

I have several king cage SS all with the bend. They hold everything rock solid even the big 975ml Zefal Magnum bottles. Have not tried the flat tops.
I’ve got the [iris king cages](https://kingcage.com/collections/all-products/products/iris-king-cage) on my road bike and you can literally pick my bike up by my bottles. Works for me, I’m not into dropping bottles.
