So I live in a city. I don’t have to cycle very far for pretty much anything. I do like to carry my work stuff and try to dress “for work” as best i can in a tropically hot country. My riding pace can be described as very leisurely.
I’ve been daydreaming a bit about getting a “premium”-like commuter bike, a few I’ve seen and like the look of are like
– a trek verve 3 lowstep https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/hybrid-bikes/comfort-recreation-bikes/verve/verve-3-disc-lowstep/p/32732/?colorCode=grey
– a Tokyo bike bisou https://tokyobike.us/collections/bisou/products/bisou-willow
– an unspokin frigate, which is a local brand with a belt drive and internal gear hub https://unspokin.com/products/frigate?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwzN-vBhAkEiwAYiO7oKsgJme9oZBGFWYrU47t8ww0YC3kwxktT3RZnUphFMlRQMX1YWAzABoCROcQAvD_BwE
Basically something comfy, stylish, practical, not-sporty, *non-electric* for legal reasons, and a bit “nicer” than a beater. My workplace lets me park my bike practically at my desk as well as a quick pop in the shop or dropping kids off at daycare etc.
I’d like to welcome thoughts, or opinions on what bikes are just *really nice* for getting about a (tropical) town.
This bike would be funded from all the coffee i am not drinking now I’m trying to make it before leaving for work. As opposed to buying it from the bike shop en route to work. 😅

A modern steel frame bike could be a nice option, from Surly or All-City. Personally, I have a green All-City Super Professional as my commuter and it looks great with tan wall tires, tan grips, and a Brooks saddle.
