Complete newbie to bmx, so apologies if I’m going about this all wrong. Trying to get my kids (2 kids, range 9-14, average size) a new bike and was looking at this one:

Are these good for first time bmx? If not, is there something I should be looking at that’s also not going to break the bank?

First off, you’re a cool af parent for doing the research!
It depends. A 20” TT is gonna be too big for your youngest to start shredding, and your oldest might be old enough to do their own research to see what they want, though this would probs be a reasonable size for both them depending on how they plan on using them.
I grew up poor and hit dirt jumps with 20inch bmx shaped “bikes” from Walmart and was fine then I got my first “real” bike for Christmas when I was 13. Realistically this bike will let them cruise the neighborhood and hit jumps and have fun with friends. If they ride these hard and wreck them, consider throwing down for more expensive, higher quality bikes. It’s a good bike to see if they’ll stick with the sport.
It might be worth it to find a bike with 3 piece cranks, the cranks on this model are 1 piece and they tend to bend easily.
