I replaced the chain for a new one (same model KMC MTB X9 EPT) and suddenly now my bike has a huge crank noise whenever I put a bit of pressure in the pedals.
I’ve tried to make it happens in the stand but I’m not able to put enough pressure to force this to happen. That’s why I’m not able to see what’s happening, really.
First I thought it was skipping teeth and it might be the cassette or the chain wheel but it worked all just fine with the previous chain…

If a chain is badly worn, it will wear the cassette etc. to its profile, so a new chain will skip.
Here’s a video where you can hear the sound

How does the routing through derailleur looks like?
I can see significant burrs on the backside of your #9 and some #8. Barring an alignment or sticky link scenario, id bet it’s cassette time
