Hey guys! I’ve been working on a vintage Peugeot Avioraz (1980s, I think) and it’s my first time trying to restore a bike ever! I’ve encountered a problem while I was trying to remove the bottom bracket; I broke the drive-side lockring trying to remove it by twisting it in the wrong (counter-clockwise) direction with a lot of force using the right tool (Park Tool BBT-4 Bottom Bracket Tool). The lockring is an **FAG Germany BSA 1.37″ x24Tpi-l** as shown in the image. Because it’s made of plastic, it broke off and left the threaded portion inside the frame.
I tried to remove it using a heat gun, but the plastic was not melting. Then, I tried to see if I could hammer the bearing system from the driver-side so I can reveal the broken threaded bottom bracket (dust?)cap and use a hacksaw to remove it. However, the threaded portion seems to be too durable.
Do you have any advice? I’m on a tight-ish budget but I’m willing to try everything as I’m DESPERATE! I watched [this YouTube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjt3EaoHLXo) and am currently trying to imitate it, as it seems that they had a similar problem to mine with a similar bottom bracket.
