Apparently these are BMX pedals?? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ anyway, who knows how old these are – probably 20 years – and my left one clunks like crazy when I pedal. It spins smoothly and pretty quietly but put weight down on it and rotate it (i.e. pedal) and it’s pretty loud.
Judging by the second photo, which appears to be a plastic cap, it seems I should be able to access the inside of the pedal – guessing there’s a bolt under there connecting the flat pedal to the shaft?? – but the plastic cap basically crumbles when trying to pry it up…
Before I destroy the thing, a) _can_ I remove it? b) if I can, can I grease it?? c) if so, what grease? d) any thoughts on how I can get the cap off? And e) if/when I destroy it removing it, what can I replace it with? Lol
