Royal Mail “Karen” doesn’t want to be filmed when speaking to Man with Camera

Out and about today in Ipswich and we take a look at Royal Mail Ipswich Delivery Office which is located in Commercial Road in a IP1 Postcode.

Most the the staff respected the rights of a Photographer apart from one delivery driver who called me over asked me what I was doing and then aske not to be filmed.

The Counter Staff were also unsure if I could film the Public Information.

Out there some poster workers sitting in the uh look like a smoking shelter smoking hot over there and you see there’s quite a lot of Vans sort of still in the uh in the car park and that’s try and keep as steady as I can there a few uh fans coming out getting

Ready uh for their deliveries for the day so I’m not going to go onto the land at all does say no fires entry so I’ll uh I’ll respect that sign hold it so it’s good to see there’s some electric charges there by pulse so zoom

Into into them they got so I can see so there’s four electric charging points just there So it’s quite idy here it’s got a this one can in the road just there it’s quite quite a little quite a bit of lit here as you can see there all lit sort of There uh as well but other than that car part looks pretty uh pretty tidy van coming out now so I can’t hear you sorry well don’t talk to a cameraman then or what it look like I’m doing he already filming me filming I’m filming yeah you’re don’t give you permission to

Film me well there’s no expectation of privacy in a public place don’t be filmed don’t talk to a Cameraman So it’s quite a busy morning few Vans coming up get a few Smiles few nods most of them are respecting the rights of the uh photographer apart from the uh the Ceron so it looks like the uh entrance there start to come in try and keep the camera as still as I can guys just walking back to get better angles so this is the uh obviously the way out just there the weighing around the other side then there you got a

Staff sort of entrance just There so it’s a public can further down so just going to have a quick look at uh look at that and I’ll uh I’ll pick this back up guys when I uh when I get there okay ni back with now so just going to have a look at the notice boards uh sort

Of in uh inside so I’m just filming the notice sport so parel drop off point there so if you clict to an item you have to have sort of certain ID with you so credit debit card passport NHS card driving license photo identity card it’s got details of prohibited

Items just there ack devices that’s what are you actually filming for I don’t yeah it’s public it’s public space I’m just filming the public information okay have you got permission to do sir no don’t need permission it’s public area are you sure yeah you can check with your managers if you want I

Will check yeah so see your waste so just filming thatly nor far that there notice the customers so 24 hours before walk to a m it switch please not we’re not post office couns cannot provide the same service as they do people deserve the right do their jobs without being
