Title. I’m eyeing a new Cannondale Topstone 4 from REI for about $1200 vs. a used Trek Domane AL 5 (Gen 3) for $1000. The Trek is exactly my size and judging from the listing, looks to be in good shape.

I’m leaning towards the Trek given the price and the better groupset (Shimano vs Microshift on the Cannondale), but a new Cannondale would be sweet and has a larger tire clearance (37 mm vs 35 mm on the Trek; not much, I know).

I’m not as familiar with brands and build quality at this price point, so curious to get this group’s feedback! I’m a fairly casual biker in MA, moving to a hilly area and mostly stay on road but occasionally take a light gravel trail.

Thanks in advance.
