First ride on the gravelking x1s. Hopefully they stand the test at mid south.

I know you’re not supposed to try new gear right before a big race but w/e. I was pumped when they came in the mail today.

I rode the last 5,500km on Pathfinders. It was a little hard to compare on my ride today cuz it was stupid windy out and shorter than usual. My initial impressions are the x1s are much more playful in the dirt and gravel and much more confidence inspiring cornering – the transition to side knobs was super smooth. On pavement, the x1s were maaaybe a little slower? Again wind made it hard to tell. They didn’t necessarily feel any more supple than the Pathfinders but I got the + casing. I can probably dial down my pressure as well. I’ll toy with that later.
