  1. Tires don’t age well. Time to switch them out. Continental Gatorskin is my to go tire for my vintage road bikes.

Ah no, gutted! I had some original Nokia tanwalls on a 1988 Pennine but unfortunately one of them did this.

I love the look of these Peugeots. Trouble is I can’t seem to find model names or years on these. Trying to figure out if they’re butted or other specs is difficult. Looking to get one, for example, if they’re lighter than high ten steel. Any tips?

I have a 70s Raleigh that until just a few weeks ago was sporting OEM Raleigh tires that I’ve imagined were the ones it was sold with. It had apparently no miles when I got it. Sadly the sidewalls got to a state where I just couldn’t trust them any more. Happily the Panaracers look the part.

Update on the split old new 700 x 20’s. I couldn’t resist riding a cautious 25 miles on them today. The rear tires developed some more cracks but only in the tread. The front held up. The 20’s felt awesome actually! I’m going to replace them with new late model 700 x 20 tires! They felt like I was barely on the pavement.
