As per the image I have found that there is quite a lot of dirt ingressed around the bottom fork steerer. My bike needs a clean, but do you think the bearings need servicing or will a clean suffice? The bike steers smoothly at present, but I’ve noticed this dirt leaking out of the fork steerer before just curious if this is normal or not?

Very common and usually not an issue. If you ride in the rain/wet the lower bearing will need a look a few times per year. I generally put much more grease around this bearing than others for this reason.
