After the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine the bicycle once again proved its significance. In many cities bicycle has became the main mode of transportation due to the lack of public transport and fuel shortages. In some cases, the bicycle has become the only transportation alternative for Ukrainians.
We strive to increase the mobility of Ukrainian volunteers, critical infrastructure workers, in order to make humanitarian and other aid more accessible to those who need it most.
As of April 19, as part of the #BikesforUkraine campaign, 1,146 bicycles were collected and delivered to 45 communities of Ukraine for the needs of critical infrastructure workers, volunteers, social workers, local authorities, doctors, police, utility and railway workers, children, and even people evacuating from territories temporarily occupied by Russia.
Regions (oblasts) where bicycles have already been delivered to as part of the #BikesForUkraine campaign:
Dnipropetrovska
Donetska
Zhytomyrska
Kyivska
Kirovohradska
