Converting 12×142 thru-axle to 5×135 qr. Shimano.

Followed DT Swiss’s advices and got one adapter (RW adapter conversion Kit 135.0mm / QR HWGXXX0006383S [link](https://www.dtswiss.com/ja/support/product-support?matnr=HWGXXX0006383S))

However, the final setup shown below is a little shorter than ideal with about 1\~2mm gap, and I cannot use it the mount my wheel. What can I do?

  1. Have you measured the gap? Frame rear triangles aren’t always the most accurate of spacimgs

Won’t your rear triangle just bend into place once you tighten it down? Did you loosen your brake caliper? You’re probably going to have to re-adjust it.

This is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Most frames with QR dropouts are not exactly 135mm. most are over spec by 1-2 mm some are under spec the same. Also not every 135 hub is exactly 135, though DT swiss do tend to run true 135 and most high end hubs do as well.

TLDR nothing to worry about. as long as you used the right axle end caps and reassembled the hub correct you are fine. Now if that gap was like 5mm then you got a problem.
