Had the same on my mudrunner. You need a longer straddle cable, which will bring the anchor higher up and out of the way of the rack mount. Your local bike shop should be able to sort you out if you ask nicely !

  2. The only problem with extending the straddle cable is it changes the mechanical advantage and will significantly change the feel/ power of the brake. They’re designed so that the staddle should form as close to a 90 degree angle at the yoke as possible, the way you have it set up is pretty close to 90 and ideal. V brakes or going old school retro. Depends on how your riding is and if you want to sacrifice front brake performance.
