First long ride today and I’m totally in love!

Coming from a 2021 Allez Sprint, which was a lovely machine, but the rides could be harsh. It improved significantly after switching to 28mm tubeless tires, but still took a lot of battering, especially on the Flemish cobblestones.

Decided to splurge on this new beauty after ogling the pro bikes at a local race. Had my first longer ride of 90km today and was thoroughly impressed:

– Comfort is significantly better; could easily handle 150-200km rides on this. It provides a fantastic road feel, but filters out the harshness.
Currently still on the stock 25mm front and 28mm back tires, but planning to convert to tubeless soon. However, swapped the Selle Italia SLR saddle for my Power Pro Mirror because my buttocks weren’t impressed after the first test ride.
– The bike feels incredibly lively. Very stable on high-speed flats but also nimble in maneuvering. A dream to ride.
– It was quite windy today. Still adjusting to the 62mm DT Swiss wheels. Somewhat unstable in descents, particularly sensitive to gusts. Coming from Zipp 404’s, so used to high-profile rims. Almost shit my bibs on a 50-70 kph descent 💩
– The color is just marvelous! So much better looking in real life.
– D-A DI2 is overshooting a lot, but the heart wants what the heart wants 🤷‍♂️ Shifting is perfect, of course.

FYI: The delivery process went very smoothly. Easy installation, no quality issues, just some adjustments to the brake calipers. Proud new Canyon fanboy over here.

  1. Nice saddle bag 😀 I own the same one. Fits everything and doesn’t touch the seatpost. Awsome bike, I just bought the CF slx 7 di2 and can’t wait to ride it!
