As you can see in the video we quite enjoy our bikes in Romania! Do not forget that cycling in the cities isn’t up to ‘Dutch’ standards yet and streetdogs (even ‘mountaindogs’) remain a big problem!

Elan, are we off for a bicycle journey? All right, off you go! Wow, you are doing great! Are we off again? – Daddy, are reindeer as heavy as cars? – Vulcan-pass, at the mountain station of the cableways. From here starts the mtb downhill track.
This is not yet the track because I have to traverse the alpine ski slope. And here I drove yesterday uphill to check it out. So here is the end of the downhill track which now I will do the other way around.
Normally you drive on the road uphill or take the cableways and then you come down by the track. Wow, it looks like a really nice track! This is very well made, cool, wow! I definitely have to do it once downhill!
This jump I will not take when I will come down! I think then you will fly… And flying is something I can’t! And what do we have here? Will the road stop or bring me to a viewpoint? There, in the small valley we can find the Lainici monastery.
Special place here, I am sure there are not many people around. Hmn, I don’t know. My drone will provide me with the view. I’ll stop and have a look on the map before I descent too much. We will make a bicycle journey into the Strei Valley here from Sorin’s place.
And tomorrow we will go over there (over Dealu Babi) to the Jiu Valley. Look, here Sorin told me, there is this place where people gather in summer time to have a bbq, a fire together, by tent or campingcar. This is Romania, freedom! (as long as you keep it clean)
It’s ‘snowing’ leaves as autumn gives us. There on the road we have Sorin, here the beautiful tree, and there the Strei river which we follow. It’s already so beautiful and we’ve only just left his home.
Look, Sorin driving uphill. We will climb until we reach the source of the Strei river. Down there you can see the Strei river. I just was about to run flat. (I am driving tubeless) Luckily I was fast enough to prevent the tire to get of the rim.
I could quickly put some pressure on it. And that’s necessary or we would have to walk all the way back and definitely won’t make it before dark falls.
