Hello, after about 12 000 km I noticed that my cassette started to bite into my freewheel body.
I can’t notice any downside to this apart that when I’m changig the cassette it’s hard to take it off.
Is there anything that I should be worried about that would justify buying a new freewheel body? It cost 40 € which I’m not inclined to be paying right now.

It’s an OEM wheel Fulcrum Racing 900 DB which Fulcrum gives only to bike manufacturers, Canyon in this case.

It’s not worth it since it will happen again. Maybe changing to an XD or Microspline freehub body would help but unless you change cassettes daily it won’t matter

Thats not a significant wear to worry about replacement of the freehub body, but maybe worth filing down a bit so it won’t be catching cassette when mounting/dismounting.
Its pretty common for aluminium freehub bodies to suffer from such wear, file down burrs a bit and ride another 10k miles safely. Worst case scenario, it will get cassette stuck and you need to replace freehub with a stuck (maybe worn by that time too) cassette

It’s annoying when you need to remove the cassette, but you have nothing to worry about otherwise

Downside is that it can be slightly (really slightly) harder to remove the cassette.
Advantage is that you can count your gears really easy like this.
A fix will be very temporary and IMO not nearly worth the cost or the work.

Run a file over it to make cassette removal easier, it won’t cause any issues.
