First ride on the Poseidon FX.

I’ve put this bike together over the past couple months after getting the frameset locally for $100. It feels great with the 650×48 tires I’m currently running. I originally tried to build it up with a 144bcd crankset but none of the combinations I tried with the parts I already own would work, if I got the crank arms and bolts to actually be an allowable distance from the chainstay the chain line would be totally out of whack so I ended up going with this 130bcd 165mm Sugino messenger crankset and am using the recommend bottom bracket for this crankset (Sugino CBBF-103). On my first ride today I noticed that one of the chainring bolts was making a slight amount of contact with the chainstay so after I got home I put a 2mm spacer on the drive side and now everything seems perfect and the chain line still looks fine to my eye. Just wanted to throw this out there as a psa for anyone wanting to build one. I won’t be doing anything too intense on this bike as I’ve seen posts of these frames breaking before (this is the version with plate welded on the bottom side of the down tube and head tube that supposedly fixes the issue the previous versions had) but I still question how well made a $200 aluminum frameset can actually be.
