The driver of the Mercedes cut across my path as if I was not there. They received a warning letter from the police reminding them of the Highway Code and that future allegations might result in prosecution.

This happens a lot here, at the junction of London Road and Saxby Street, in Leicester UK.

Rule H3 of the Highway Code: You should not cut across cyclists, horse riders or horse drawn vehicles going ahead when you are turning into or out of a junction or changing direction or lane, just as you would not turn across the path of another motor vehicle.
