Hello everyone,

I am starting a new job in a few weeks in Australia. My partner and I have only one car so I’d like to start cycling to work. Google maps tells me it’s 1:13 and 21km one way. I’d like the freedom of a bike as I usually train football twice a week and battle traffic after work.
I am currently fit (running and football weekly), but my preference would be an E-bike so that I’m not completely sweaty at work.
I’d love to get your advice on commuting to work, but also would love some brands/e-bikes I should look at. I have experience using pannier racks, and it’d be awesome if the bike could be as clean a setup as possible.
My budget would be roughly $1500-$2000 Australian dollars, but could be swayed to increase.

Thanks guys!

I used to do a similar hilly 20k commute on an e bike. I have a rad mission, now oop. If I had to do it again I’d get an aventon soltera. Get a rack and panniers along with some panniers and rain gear. With the e bike you will always arrive at more or less the same time, whereas an acoustic bike makes your speed dependent on weather and wind.

You’ll probably be fine on anything with range and a bike rack. Get marathon plus tires for puncture resistant. detachable battery if you want to charge at work.
