Am I wasting my time looking at this bike when my riding is 70% trail, 30% full downhill days?
I already have. 140mm hardtail.
Thanks!

Edit.
Most trails I ride are still single track with fast downhill sections followed by short hard climbs. I would say I’m a fairly decent rider and also very fit, so I’ve got no issues riding a heavier bikeuphill.

  1. I would say no.

I rather have a bit too much travel in the bank than not enough when you need it.

I ride 160/160 and set it up pretty firm but when doing more ‘gravity’ type trails loosen things up a bit.

    But, opinions are like arseholes…………

  2. Took my capra to my local xc yesterday, that is now bike park only I love my hard tail again

That polygon is a huge bike and its rather heavy. I rode the base model and was surprised at how smooth a $2k bike is.
I have a knolly that is 170/170 and i do pedal that up and around at times. Felt like a rocket in comparison. I think the polygon will feel sluggish at anything but warp speed.
In summary i dont think a 170mm bike is bad for trail riding but it isnt ideal. I would look at something that has a good pedaling platform if you want big travel that doesn’t make you work your ass off.

Depends on the rider. I haven’t been to a bike park in years but still ride an Enduro around. I’m not going for uphill strava leaderboard stuff so I don’t really mind dragging the weight, and the extra travel has saved my ass a few times when I messed up.
