I recently realized 1” threadless stems fit onto threaded forks fine so instead of threading the fork down further and curing it to install I installed a threadless headset and clamped my stem over the threaded section. I’m certain thibs will give someone a stroke but it works.

As long as it’s sturdy and doesn’t get you hurt, I’d say to send it 👍
Don’t do it replacement teeth are expensive
No shit it works, doesn’t mean it’s safe.
You have to fill the space inside the steerer, either with a quill stem or quill adapter, so that the bending force will not cause a rapid catastrophic failure. The threading cuts the strength of the tube down to a fraction of what it was before, and it is extremely likely to crack if a threaded section of steerer is stressed like this without the stem inside the tube to reinforce the threaded section. The threaded design relies on a the presence of the quill stem for the system to function structurally.
I wonder if in that application you could get a riser stem and go below the threaded part?
oooooooofff.
